MINERAL WELLS — The Brownwood Lady Lions notched their second victory against District 4-4A soccer competition Friday, tallying a 3-2 triumph over the Mineral Wells Lady Rams.

Scoring goals for the Lady Lions (11-4, 2-3) — who remained in third place in the league standings — were Maddy Garza, Dusty VanHuss and Aleyia Cotton. Providing assists were VanHuss, Miranda Guerrero and Khloe Tobien.

In goal, Channing Barron notched nine saves with two goals allowed.

The Lady Lions are back in action at 5 p.m. Tuesday when they visit District 4-4A leader and defending state champion Stephenville to wrap up the second of three rounds of league play.

MINERAL WELLS — The Brownwood Lions were again denied their first District 4-4A soccer victory Friday night, falling to the Mineral Wells Rams by a 3-0 count.

Caleb Woodcock finished with 11 saves as three shots found the net.

The Lions' (4-11-1, 0-5) chase for their first district victory takes them to Stephenville at 7 p.m. Tuesday, where they will tangle with the Yellow Jackets.
