PROCTOR — The defending Class A girls golf state champion Blanket Tigers cruised to a 14-stroke victory at the Comanche Invitational at PAR Country Club earlier this week.

Blanket fired a 373 team total, with Class 3A Jim Ned finishing as the runner-up with a 387. Third-place Eastland carded a 433 composite score.

Reigning Class A girls state champion Marki Kinkade posted the low round of the day with an 85. Fellow Lady Tigers Cassie Furry (92), Emily Furry (96) and Kenzie Tidwell (100) also turned in solid efforts.

The second-lowest round of the tournament belonged to Jim Ned’s Kevie Enloe with an 86, while Early’s Lauren Piper placed third with a 91.
