The Brownwood High tennis team captured championships in girls singles, girls doubles and mixed doubles, while also picking up consolation crowns in both boys singles and doubles at their own spring season tournament, which concluded Saturday.

In girls singles action, tournament champion Kendra Renfroe started with a first-round bye then defeated Abbey Stephens of Snyder (6-3, 6-1), Kelsey Riddle of Jim Ned (7-6, 2-6, 10-7) and Zamira Manuel of Copperas Cove (7-6, 6-2).

In the girls doubles draw, Cameron Hall and Mckinzie Adkins, who also received a first-round bye, rolled past Goets and Morales of San Angelo Lake View (7-6, 6-3), Branch and Smith of Jim Ned (6-0, 6-1) and Hahn and Rodriguez of Lake View (6-0, 6-1) en route to their title.

The mixed doubles winning team of Jeremy Roberson and Piper Barberie, also coming off a first-round bye, downed Stewart and Croft of Coleman (6-1, 6-1), Hanna and Ambercrombie of Jim Ned (6-3, 6-1) and Caphuchina and Torres of Lake View (6-2, 6-2).

In boys singles action, James Bautista dropped his first match to Sensabaugh of Ballinger, but followed by defeating Mullin's Skyler Smith and Huston of Ballinger to collect the consolation hardware.

The boys doubles team of Michael Gomez and Jose Lira lost their first match to Glick and Nix from Copperas Cove (6-0, 6-4), but bounced to defeat Rosales and Heath of Jim Ned (7-6, 6-3) and Perez and Long of Lake View (6-2, 6-3) in the consolation final.

Other Brownwood competitors included:

• Kaylee Renfroe, in girls singles, fell to Zaylie Sanchez of Snyder (6-1, 6-3) and Kate McWilliams of Snyder (6-3, 7-5).

• Mo Goff, Gabe Hinojosa and Dusty Hernandez, in boys singles, each won their first round match but lost in the second round.

• Jordan Stavley and Samantha Ethridge defeated Medina and Salazar of Big Spring (7-6, 6-4) in their girls doubles opener, but dropped the next match.

• Kaitlyn Welch and Lillian Jonescue lost their first girls doubles match to Flores and Luecke of Snyder (7-5, 6-1) and their second match to Medina and Salazar of Big Spring (6-2, 6-4).

• Pablo Solis and Tanner Scull, in boys doubles, defeated Payden Eason and Casey Ketterhagen of Bangs (6-4, 6-1), and Perez and Long of Lake View (6-4, 6-7, 10-8), then lost to Chapman and Samirippa of Copperas Cove (6-2, 6-3) and Stewart and Amador of Coleman (4-4)

• Cade Rector and Kayleigh George opened with a bye, then fell to Motley and Purdum of Copperas Cove (6-4, 7-5).
