STEPHENVILLE — The Brownwood Lady Lions and Lions soccer teams were both the victim of shutout losses in District 4-4A action at Stephenville Tuesday night.

The Lady Lions were dealt a 1-0 setback, with defending state champion Stephenville recording the game’s only goal in the final five minutes. Channing Barron recorded six saves in goal with one allowed.

The Lady Lions slipped to 11-5 overall and 2-4 in district action as they concluded the second of three rounds of district action.

The Lions, meanwhile, were knocked off 5-0 by Stephenville as the Brownwood boys are still seeking their first district victory. Caleb Woodcock finished with 15 saves and five goals allowed.

The Lions are now 4-12-1 overall and 0-6 in league play.

Brownwood will start the final loop of the 4-4A schedule on Friday as it hosts Abilene Wylie in a doubleheader that begins at 5 p.m.
