TOLAR — Coming off a championship performance at the Bluebonnet Relays this past weekend, the Brownwood Lady Lions earned a second straight meet title Thursday at the Tolar Rattler Relays with a 167-point total.

The Lady Lions earned 18 medals — eight gold, seven silver, and three bronze.

Gold medalists included Kyra Young in both the 3200 meters (11:56) and 800 meters (2:23), Trinity Jackson in both the 100-meter hurdles (16.25) and 300-meter hurdles (47.89), Aleyia Cotton in the 400 meters (1:00.78), Izzy Lawrence in the 1600 meters (5:48), Alyssa Couey in the high jump (4-10), and the mile relay team of Davalynn Monroe, Couey, Lawrence, and Young (4:16).

Earning silver medals were Couey in the 800 meters (2:34), Cotton in the long jump (15-11.25), Jackson in the pole vault (10-0), Monroe in the 200 meters (28.54), Lakyn Ratliff in the 100 meters (13.84), Kenya Barnes in the discus (96-0), and the sprint relay team of Jackson, Ratliff, Monroe, and Cotton (51.02).

Collecting bronze medals were Audrey Boren in the 3200 meters (13:06), Alex Fowler in the 1600 meters (5:51) and Couey in the 400 meters (1:05.93).

Placing fourth were Aleia Burkett in the discus (89-1), Caitlyn Tucker in the pole vault (7-6), Lawrence in the 3200 meters (13:22) and Fowler in the 800 meters (2:35).

Coming in fifth was Alyssa Preston in the discus (87-2), while Preston was also sixth in the shot put (29-11.25).

The Lady Lions will compete again Saturday, March 17 at the Possum Kingdom Relays hosted by Graham High School.
