Brownwood Lady Lions Sage Cupps and Mallory Garcia were recently selected to the Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 4A All-State Basketball Team.

Cupps, a senior making her second appearance on the all-state team, was named the District 5-4A Offensive Player of the Year as she averaged 17.9 points, 3.8 points, 2.8 steals and 1.3 assists per game.

Garcia, a junior and first-team all-district selection, generated 13.5 points, 3.6 steals, 2.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest en route to her first all-state appearance.

Earlier this month, Garcia was also selected to play in the TGCA Class 4A-1A All-Star Game in Arlington this summer.

The TGCA Class 4A All-State roster consists of 34 players.

The Lady Lions finished with a 29-6 record, the most wins in a single season in school history, and earned the program’s seventh bi-district title in nine years under head coach Heather Hohertz.
