PROCTOR - The Blanket Tigers and Lady Tigers continued their District 19-A golf dominance by claiming both team championships by almost a combined 300 strokes, along with shooting the three-best individual rounds on both the boys and girls sides, Monday at PAR Country Club.

The defending Class A state champion Lady Tigers won the district championship by 206 strokes, posting a 364 composite score compared to the 570 of runner-up Sidney.

In boys action, the Tigers - who placed fourth at the state tournament a year ago - rolled to an 85-shot win over Sidney, finishing with a 357 to the Eagles' 432.

For the Lady Tigers, reigning Class A girls state champion Marki Kinkade won the district title with a round of 75, followed by teammates Cassie Furry as the silver medalist with a 91, and Emily Furry as the bronze medalist with a 92.

Kenzie Tidwell chipped in a 106 for the Blanket girls and Shelby Smith added a 107.

Luke Kinkade led the Tigers with a first-place 76, followed by runner-up Trenten Varner with an 89 and third-place Blake Hood with a 91.

Josh Schwab carded a 96 and Mark Lopez chipped in a 111 for the Blanket boys.

The top two teams and top two individuals not on qualifying teams advance to the Region III-A tournament at Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glen Rose April 25-26.

Zephyr placed third on the boys side, but Bulldogs Kolby Miller, with a 103, and Bryson Gibbs, with a 110, are moving on to regionals.

Kason King posted a 116 for Zephyr while Tanner Jones and Shon Reedy added 131s.

On the girls side, Zephyr's Kensli Rockafellow, with a 115, will join Kassandra Morgan of Priddy, with a 112, as individual regional qualifiers.

Zephyr's Alina Cozart shot a 147 in the girls portion of the district tournament.
