The Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions basketball teams recently held their end of year banquet.

The Lady Lions, under head coach Heather Hohertz, finished the season with a 29-6 record, most wins in a single season in program history, along with their seventh bi-district championship in nine seasons.

The Lions, under head coach Nadir Dalleh, posted a 20-11 record and were bi-district finalists for the second year in a row.

Lady Lion team awards distributed at the banquet included Co-MVPs Sage Cupps and Mallory Garcia; Defensive MVP Taytum Sutton; Offensive MVP Ryleigh Dalleh; and Lion Heart Mya Wallace.

Postseason honors for the Lady Lions included:

• Cupps: TGCA All-State, District 5-4A Offensive MVP

• Garcia: TGCA All-State, 1st Team All-District

• Dalleh: 1st Team All-District

• Sutton: 2nd Team All-District

• Kenya Barnes: Honorable Mention All-District

• Hadley Monroe: Honorable Mention All-District

Lion team awards distributed at the banquet included MVP Blake Bronniman; Co-Offensive MVPs Zach Strong and A.J. McCarty; and Defensive MVP Xavier Porter.

Also, Shawn Cullins was a finalist for TABC assistant coach of the year.
