The Early Lady Horns collected two victories in three matches at the Albany volleyball tournament Saturday, leveling their season record at 2-2 through the first week.

The Lady Horns started the tournament with a 25-9, 25-17 victory over district and archrival Bangs. Early then fell to Bronte, 27-25, 25-19, but bounced back with a 25-15, 25-18 victory over Abilene Christian High.

In the win over Bangs, Early received six kills from Trinity Tomlinson, four from Ellie Ryan, three from Kacee Gober, two from Taylor Summers and one apiece from Emma Loven, Kenzie Poindexter and Alexa Portillo.

Vance Cady Gordon dished out seven assists followed by Gober and Summers with two each and Ryan and Hope Boswell with one apiece.

Tomlinson also served five aces while Haley Spieckerman chipped in three and Gordon, Summers, Portillo and Ryan added one each.

Defensively, Spieckerman collected five digs followed by Tomlinson with four, Loven and Portillo with three apiece, Gordon with two and Gober and Summers with one each.

At the net, Gober notched two blocks and Ryan contributed one.

The victory over Abilene Christian saw Gober tally five kills trailed by Tomlinson, Boswell and Summers with two apiece and Gordon and Ryan with one each.

Gordon recorded five assists, Summers added four and Tomlinson, Loven and Gober were credited with one each.

Portillo served three aces, Tomlinson added two and Gober chipped in one.

Defensively, Loven finished with a team-best eight digs followed by Tomlinson with seven, Portillo with five, Gober with four, Spieckerman, Gordon and Summers with three apiece, Ryan with two and Boswell and Poindexter with one each.

Tomlinson, Gober and Ryan recorded one block apiece.

In the loss to Bronte, Tomlinson again led the charge with seven kills followed by Ryan with five, Poindexter and Gober with four apiece, Summers with a pair and Boswell and Gordon with one each.

Gordon notched seven assists, Summers finished with four, Gober chipped in two and Loven was credited with one.

Portillo served both of Early's aces.

On defense, Tomlinson chalked up 15 digs trailed by Portillo and Loven with seven each, Gordon with five, Spieckerman with four, Boswell with three, and Poindexter, Gober, Summers and Ryan with two each.

Gober tallied the lone block for the Lady Horns.

After Bangs fell to Early, the Lady Dragons rebounded with a 27-25, 25-18 win over Ranger followed by a 25-17, 25-18 loss to host Albany.

Bangs (1-2) is back in action at Tuesday at home against Breckenridge.

At the Veribest tournament, the Zephyr Lady Bulldogs finished fourth in their pool Friday.

On Saturday, Zephyr knocked off Brady in its first match but followed with a loss to Comanche in the consolation championship game.

Zephyr and Lingleville both will visit Early Tuesday in a dual match. Action is set to begin at 4 p.m.
