BRADY — The Early Lady Horns reached double figures in the win column Tuesday night with one of the program’s most resounding victories in its brief history — a 25-10, 25-5, 25-6 road thrashing of the Brady Lady Bulldogs.

“This was the first time in two years we played better than our opponent and then kept pushing at them,” said Lady Horns second-year head coach Natalie Whitewood. “This was the best overall game of the year. I felt like we really played hard and to our potential.”

The offensive effort for Early (10-11) was spearheaded by a 21-ace performance — eight from Emma Loven, seven from Alexa Portillo, four from Taylor Summers and one each from Trinity Tomlinson and Vance Cady Gordon.

Ellie Ryan collected a team-best four kills followed by three each from Tomlinson, Hope Boswell, Kenzie Poindexter and Kacee Gober.

Summers also dished out nine assists, Gordon chipped in five and Tomlinson was credited with one.

Defensively, Loven’s nine digs led the way trailed by five from Gordon, four each from Portillo and Tomlinson, three from Ryan and one each from Boswell, Gober, Summers and Haley Spieckerman.

At the net, Gober picked up Early’s lone block.

The Lady Horns will return to action at 10 a.m. Saturday when they play host to Mullin.
