Darby Crysler finished first to spark the Brownwood Lady Lions to the team championship at the Brownwood Invitational cross country meet Wednesday at the Brownwood Middle School.

The meet champion Lady Lions generated 30 points trailed by Jim Ned (47 points), Goldthwaite (72), Zephyr (118), Cisco (124), Brookesmith (184), and Blanket (185).

Crysler was clocked at 12:44.32 as she edged out runner-up Kylee Medina of Goldthwaite (12:44.77) with a late surge at the finish line.

Three more Lady Lions placed in the Top 10 as Audrey Boren was third in a time of 13:08.44, Izzy Lawrence was fifth clocked at 13:16.72 and Watts Jones came in eighth with a time of 14:00.63. Alyssa Couey (13th, 14:46.32), Naysa Leach (17th, 15:02.87) and Mia Sharp (20th, 15:11.17) rounded out the Brownwood effort as all Lady Lions finished in the Top 10.

Zephyr's effort was led by Gabby Durbin, who finished sixth in a time of 13:36.09, followed by Bailey Bigham (21st, 15:12.17), Andrea Taylor (23rd, 15:22.93), Natalie Hardy (36th, 16:55.52), Emily Primrose (39th, 17:27.19) and Audrey Bigham (43rd, 18:04.31).

Running for Brookesmith were Katie Harris (28th, 15:55.49), Khloe Brummett (29th, 15:56.01), Sesily Morris (46th, 20:22.56), Whitley Been (47th, 20:35.96), Karolina Rivas (48th, 20:53.09 and Jolene Andrews (50th, 24:32.27).

Competing for Blanket were Bailey Hood (31st, 16:13.6), Angelica Yeats (40th, 17:28.54), Shelby Smith (42nd 17:58.38), Amada Menchaca (44th, 18:29.28), McKieley Fulton (45th, 19:35.68) and Gina Martinez (49th, 21:29.33).

On the boys side, the Lions – with 48 points — finished second to Priddy, which amassed 15 points.

Roman McKibben was the top Lion finisher, coming in 10th in a time of 19:18.98. Also running for Brownwood were Christian Kinsler (18th, 21:21.93), Weston Burns (19th, 21:34.13), Jeremy Peel (20th, 22:04.31), Cameron Phipps (22nd, 22:25.67), Mark Laing (23rd, 24:08.19), Brayden Yazell (26th, 25:00.79)

Chandler Hurst of Priddy won the boys race in a time of 17:16.84, trailed by runner-up Garit Durbin of Zephyr (17:48.43). Also competing from Zephyr was Thomas Terpening, who was sixth in a time of 18:54.6. Running from Blanket were Hector Casteneda, who placed eighth in a time of 19:14.35, and Mark Yeats, who was 13th clocked at 20:29.71.
