Two matches deep into the District 7-4A slate the Brownwood High tennis team has received little resistance as the Lions and Lady Lions recorded another 19-0 victory, this time over Glen Rose Saturday afternoon.

In a match originally scheduled for Sept. 6 but postponed due to rain, Brownwood followed Thursday’s 19-0 road victory over Mineral Wells by sweeping all but one match Saturday.

In girls singles action, victories were claimed by No. 1 Kaytlin Welch (6-3, 3-6, 10-8 over Abby Green), No. 2 Mckinzie Adkins (6-0, 6-2 over Hazel Hawkins), No. 3 Lillian Jonescue (6-0, 6-0 over Shelby Simpson), No. 4 Aaliyah Uvalle (6-1, 6-0 over Lacey Whitefield), No. 5 Kaylee Renfroe (6-0, 6-1 over Sarah Bope) and No. 6 Samantha Ethridge (6-1, 6-0 over Liz Gutierrez).

For the Lions, chalking up singles wins were No. 1 Gabe Hinojosa (6-2, 6-0 over Charlie Simons), No. 2 Mo Goff (6-4, 6-2 over Carson Osbourne), No. 3 James Bautista (6-0, 6-0 over Parker Simmons), No. 4 Cameron Smith (6-0, 6-0 over Tanner Boucher), No. 5 Tanner Scull (6-0, 6-0 over Chandler Wood) and No. 6 Oscar Ledezma (6-0, 6-0 over Fisher Smith).

Notching doubles victories for the Lady Lions were the No. 1 team of Welch and Piper Barberie (6-0, 6-0 over Green and Hawkins), the No. 2 duo of Adkins and Hannah Netherland (6-2, 6-0 over Simpson and Gutierrez) and the No. 3 tandem of Renfroe and Uvalle (6-0, 6-0 over Whitefield and Bope).

Doubles wins on the boys side were earned by No. 1 Hinojosa and Goff (6-2, 6-1 over Simons and Osbourne), No. 2 Bautista and Scull (6-0, 6-0 over Simmons and Boucher) and No. 3 Smith and Matthew Bundick (6-0, 6-0 over Wood and Smith).

The mixed doubles team of Ledezma and Jonescue picked up a default win to complete the sweep.

The Lions and Lady Lions wrap up the first half of district action at 4 p.m. Tuesday when they host Godley.
