EARLY — The Early Lady Horns suffered their third consecutive District 6-3A volleyball loss as Eastland completed a league sweep with a 22-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-20 victory Friday.
“We played really hard but came up short,” said Lady Horns second year head coach Natalie Whitewood. “It’s still not over by a long shot. The girls have a great attitude and they are still working hard.”
Early (19-15, 3-4) received seven kills from Hope Boswell, six from Kacee Gober, five each from Ellie Ryan and Trinity Tomlinson, three from Taylor Summers and one each from Emma Loven and Kenzie Poindexter.
Summers dished out 13 assists, Vance Cady Gordon contributed 11 and Haley Spieckerman was credited with one.
Gordon also served a pair of aces while Loven, Summers and Alexa Portillo chipped in one apiece.
Defensively, Tomlinson’s 20 digs were a team-high trailed by 16 from Portillo, 13 each from Summers and Love, 10 apiece from Gordon and Spieckerman, six from Ryan, four from Gober and one from Poindexter.
At the net, Gober tallied two blocks while Boswell, Poindexter, Summers and Ryan added one apiece.
The Lady Horns will attempt to snap their skid at home against Bangs at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
