TYLER — The Howard Payne Lady Jackets snapped a 15-game losing streak with a straight-set victory over LeTourneau in their final match at the second ASC Crossover event, hosted by UT-Tyler over the weekend.

After being swept by host UT-Tyler and East Texas Baptist on Friday, Howard Payne notched a 25-17, 29-27, 25-22 victory over LeTourneau in its lone match Saturday.

The Lady Jackets (3-19, 2-11) were sparked by 14 kills from Kylie Metcalf and 13 from Zhartaezia Bradley, along with eight from Mya Ross, three from Kailey Doering and one each from Amaya Marshall and McKenna Walker.

Walker distributed 35 assists while Ross, Marshall and Kylee Shirley were credited with one apiece.

Shirley served three aces, Walker added two and Marshall and Doering tallied one each.

Defensively, Marshall amassed 11 digs trailed by Walker with 10, Shirley with nine, Ross with eight, Bradley with five, Doering with three and Christian Wilson with two.

Metcalf and Bradley recorded five blocks apiece, Walker collected three, Ross and Doering both finished with two and Marshall and Ashley Hessler added one each.

LeTourneau (7-16, 4-7) received 13 kills from Kianna Crow, 16 assists and two aces from Cam Taylor, 15 digs from Liz Williams and four blocks from Lauren Egby-McNeal.

On Friday, HPU began the day with a 25-6, 25-12, 25-12 loss to UT-Tyler.

Bradley logged seven kills for the Lady Jackets trailed by five from Doering, two each from Metcalf and Madeleine Kelly and one from Ross.

Walker tallied all 13 of HPU's assists, while Shirley served the only ace.

On the defensive end, Shirley collected 10 digs followed by Walker and Ross with seven each, Doering with six, Marshall with three, Bradley with two and Metcalf with one.

Metcalf and Kelly notched three blocks apiece while Ross and Bradley were each credited with one.

UT-Tyler (18-1, 10-0) received 10 kills and eight aces from Kaitlyn Budisalovich, 34 assists from Reighanna Guzman, 12 digs from Makenna Bartlett and three blocks from Kayla McCoy.

In Friday's 25-14, 25-18, 25-14 loss to ETBU, Bradley led Howard Payne with six kills followed by five from Ross, four each from Marshall, Doering and Metcalf and one each from Shirley, Hessler and Kelly.

Walker distributed 25 assists while Ross served two aces and Shirley added one.

Shirley notched 17 digs on the defensive end followed by Marshall with nine, Bradley and Wilson with eight each, Ross with five, Walker with four, Hessler with three and Doering with two.

Bradley finished with three blocks, Doering and Metcalf added two apiece and Kelly tallied one.

East Texas Baptist (12-10, 6-5) received 12 kills from Paige Miller, two aces from Cassidy Zellmer, 19 assists from Elyse Shaw, 19 digs from Karina Lay and five blocks from Lizeth Flores.

The Lady Jackets visit Schreiner at 6 p.m. Wednesday in non-conference action, then wrap up American Southwest Conference at home against Concordia at 6 p.m. Friday and Mary Hardin-Baylor at 2 p.m. Saturday.
