HOUSTON (AP) — Jordan Dodson singled home Danny Lehmann in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Rice Owls a 3-2 win over the Texas A&M Aggies in Game 1 of the Houston Super Regional.

With two outs, Lehmann singled and got into scoring position when Joe Savery followed with a walk. Dodson, who scored the tying run with two outs in the ninth inning, then hit Gary Campfield’s first pitch to left, scoring Lehmann.

Down to their final two outs, the Owls tied the game in the ninth when Diego Seastrunk hit a bloop single to center.

Bobby Bramhall (6-2) pitched the final 2 2-3 innings for Rice (53-12), which is just one win away from its second straight College World Series appearance.

Ryan Berry pitched into the eighth inning for the Owls and gave up just two earned runs while walking two and striking out 10. It was the fourth time this year that Berry has stuck out at least 10 batters in a game.

The Aggies scored first when Blake Stouffer led off the second with a double and scored on a one-out single by Luke Anders.

Texas A&M took a 2-0 lead in the third inning with a double by Brandon Hicks.

The Owls got a run back in the fifth when pinch runner Derek Myers scored on an error by Hicks

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Zack Pitts allowed only four hits over seven innings and Louisville hit three home runs in the super regional opener.

Isaiah Howes, Chris Dominguez and Pete Rodriguez homered for the Cardinals (45-21), who can advance to the College World Series with a win Saturday.

Pitts (10-3), the Big East Pitcher of the Year, struck out six and walked two.

Oliver Odle (7-5) took the loss for Oklahoma State (41-20).
