Bangs basketball meeting scheduled for Sept. 30
The Bangs Sports Association will have a meeting at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30 at the Bangs High School Ag Building.
The meeting will discuss the upcoming basketball season, including registration and proposed changes to the basketball rules.
All those interested in coaching or registering a student to play are encouraged to attend.
Bangs Booster Club to conduct Oct. 1 meeting
The Bangs Athletic Booster Club will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1 in Room 306 of the Bangs Junior High.
All athletic supporters are encouraged to attend.
Pecan Valley basketball officials meeting on Oct. 1
The Pecan Valley Basketball Chapter is looking for officials for the upcoming basketball season.
A meeting for all those interested will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 at Howard Payne’s Newman Hall, next to Brookeshire’s. Meetings will be held each Monday for the remainder of the month at the same time and location.
A formal training camp for officials will take place at Warren Gym on the Brownwood High School campus on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The cost of the camp is $20 for new officials and $30 for veteran officials.

Volleyball league registration continues through Oct. 3
The City of Brownwood Recreation Department has extended its deadline for forming both spiking and non-spiking volleyball leagues. The registration deadline is now Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Lions Mothers’ Club
tailgate party on Oct. 5
The Brownwood Lions Mothers’ Club will hold a tailgate party on Friday, Oct. 5 prior to the Abilene Cooper football game.
Beginning at 6 p.m., barbeque, chips, dessert and a drink will be available for $5 in the Gordon Wood Stadium parking lot.
7-on-7 flag football league registration until Oct. 12
Registration is currently under way for the 2007 season of the mens’ 7-on-7 flag football league.
Forms can be picked up at Weakley-Watson and the cost to join the league is $175 per team T.he deadline to enter is Oct. 12 and games will be held on Saturdays at noon beginning Oct. 20.
Each team will have their owns shirts with their team name and number.

Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge on Oct. 13
The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 1101 Booker St., behind the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
The local event is open to boys and girls ages 10-14, and winners will advance through district and state competitions.
A copy of each contestant’s birth certificate and written parental consent is required to participate.

Texas Bank/Brownwood Boosters scramble on Oct. 20
TexasBank and the Brownwood High School Booster Club will host this year’s 3-person golf scramble on Saturday, Oct. 20.
Players may register as a team, or be paired with other players. Contests will include a $10,000 hole-in-one prize as well as closest to the pin and longest drive contests. There will be a cash prize for the winning team.
The shotgun start is scheduled for 9 a.m. and the field is limited to 36 teams. Entry fee is $50 per player.

Lions football TV replays Tuesdays and Wednesdays
The Brownwood Lions Booster Club is pleased to announce that the replays of Brownwood Lions football games will again be broadcast throughout the season
The games can be seen Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and again on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. on Brownwood TV Cable Channel 5 and Harris Broadband Cable Channel 7.
Coaches, statisticians encouraged to report results
Local high school coaches and/or statisticians are encouraged to report the results of their team’s game or match to the Bulletin the day of the contest.
The deadline to report information Sunday through Friday is 10:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
