SAN SABA — The Early Lady Horns rebounded from their first loss of the season with a 22-3 thrashing of the San Saba Lady ’Dillos in the District 6-2A softball opener for both squads Tuesday.

Early (6-1, 1-0) scored 18 runs in the first two innings alone, highlighted by Tylene Middleton’s three-run home run in the top of the second, one of 17 Lady Horn hits.

In the circle, Janna Allen got the start and worked the first two innings before Kaitlin Sliger came on in relief to pitch the final three.

The Lady Horns are slated to take part in the Eastland tournament starting Thursday. Early’s next district contest will not be until March 7 when Ballinger visits for at 5 p.m.

In other District 6-2A softball action Tuesday, Ballinger edged Coleman, 16-15, while Jim Ned took down Wall, 11-5.

A result from the Bangs Lady Dragons-Grape Creek Lady Eagles game was not available at press time.
