COMANCHE — The Brownwood Lady Lions evened their record with their second straight victory — and first away from home — 53-48 at Comanche Friday night.
Brownwood (2-2) led 16-11 after one quarter, 28-22 at halftime and 41-28 heading into the fourth period.
Gabby Colbert scored a team-high 15 points, followed by 12 from LaCresha Williams. Moochie Galloway added seven points, Alex Williams chipped in six and Lauren Dees and Courtney Monroe scored four each. Stephanie Jordy finished with three points and Shalisa Hall and Hailey Williams scored one point each.
The Lady Lions will place twice at home next week. Brownwood hosts Clyde at 6:30 p.m. Monday in a rematch of its season opening loss, then San Angelo Central visits at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Marble Falls Faith 60, Early 52
SAN SABA — The Early Lady Horns slipped to 3-2 on the season with a 60-52 loss to Marble Falls Faith Christian in Friday action at the San Saba tournament.
Early trailed 18-9 after one quarter, 39-28 at halftime and 55-39 through three quarters.
The Lady Horns were led by 12 points from Bailey Harris, 10 from Sydney Skeen, nine each from Brittany Wilson and Sarah Russell, eight from Julia Loudermilk and two points from Tresta Donahoo.
Early was slated to play at 2 p.m. today against either Goldthwaite or San Saba. If San Saba was the opponent, the Lady Horns were going to opt out of the game, according to head coach Naidene Tiemann, as they will face the Lady ’Dillos twice in District 6-2A action.
