EARLY The Early Lady Horns remained undefeated at home and improved to 2-1 on the season with a 69-41 win over the Hico Lady Tigers Tuesday night.

Leading 11-9 after one quarter, Early built a 33-22 halftime advantage, which grew to 51-29 heading into the fourth quarter.

Sydney Skeen led the Lady Horns with 26 points, followed by a dozen points from Katelyn Matlock and 11 points apiece from Sarah Russell and Angela Sanderson. Tresta Donahoo chipped in five points while Brittany Wilson tallied four.

Early will be back in action at noon Thursday at the San Saba tournament, where the Lady Horns will face Merkel.

Brookesmith 53, Gustine 27

BROOKESMITH The Brookesmith Lady Mustangs kept their perfect record intact with a 53-27 home win over the Gustine Lady Tigers Tuesday night.

Brookesmith (3-0) jumped out to a 19-3 first-quarter lead and owned a 31-8 halftime edge. Gustine was able to trim to the deficit to 39-17 going into the final period.

The Lady Mustangs were led by 19 points from Amber Foster, 12 from Shelby Tibbetts, 11 from Jessica Haley, nine from Kiana Crawford and two points from Jennifer Hegardt.

Brookesmith will be back in action Friday when it plays host to Brown County rival Blanket in a non-district contest.
