Little Longhorns, Mini-Belles, Spirit Sisters deadline extended
Registration for the Early Little Longhorns, Mini-Belles and Spirit Sisters programs has been extended until Monday, Aug. 13. Applications will be accepted at the Early Elementary School office on Monday.
The fee for each program is $25 and each participant will receive a T-shirt and spirit button, along with their Big Longhorn, Belle or Spirit Sister information during the first week of school. They will meet their Big Longhorn, Belle, or Spirit Sister at Purple Day on Saturday, Sept. 8.
Late registrations will not receive their T-shirts until Purple Day.
Enrollment forms are available at the Early primary and elementary schools, or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
If a child prefers a specific player or cheerleader, the program will attempt to match them, but there is no guarantee. Belles will be assigned.
Scramble for Early athletics at Shady Creek today
A fund-raising two-person golf scramble for Early athletics will be held at Shady Creek Golf Course in Blanket on Saturday, Aug. 11.
Lunch will be provided at 1 p.m., with action to begin at 2 p.m. The cost to enter is $100 per team and prizes will be awarded.

Cen-Tex Soccer Association registration ends today
Cen-Tex Soccer Association registration is under way will run through Saturday, Aug. 11. On Saturday, Aug. 11, registration sessions will be held at the Cen-Tex Soccer complex from 10 a.m. to noon.
The registration fee is $35 per child and forms can be picked up at Weakley-Watson.
The season will run from Sept. 8 through Nov. 3.

Texas Youth Football League registration ends Sunday
Registration for the upcoming fall season of the Texas Youth Football League is now under way.
Registration forms for the third and fourth grade and fifth and sixth grade leagues are available at Weakley-Watson Sporting Goods.
The fee to register is $105 and registration ends on Sunday, Aug. 12. The season will begin in mid-August and conclude in late October.
Teams from Brownwood, Early, Bangs, Brady, Coleman, Comanche, San Saba and Goldthwaite will comprise the league, with all games being played on Saturdays. The majority of the games will take place in Brownwood.

Bangs football reserved seating renewals begin Monday
Bangs football fans who had reserved seats last year can renew their reserved seats for the 2007 football season beginning Monday, Aug. 13 at the Bangs ISD administration office, located at 200 E. Hall Street.
Reserved seating is $5 per seat with a limit of six seats per family. Unsold seats will go on sale to the general public beginning Monday, Aug. 27.
Early Belles dance camp to start Monday
The Early Belles Dance Team will conduct a mini-camp from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Aug. 13 through Wednesday, Aug. 15 at the Early Primary gym.
The camp is open to girls entering kindergarten through fifth grade and the cost is $35, which should be paid prior to Aug. 6.
Campers will receive a T-shirt, a picture with a Belle and will perform in a pre-game performance before the first varsity football game.

The Early Booster Club will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13 at Early High School.
Lions season tickets on sale to general public until Aug. 17
Season tickets for the 2007 Brownwood Lions football season will be on sale to the general public through Friday, Aug. 17.
Tickets can be purchased at the Brownwood ISD Administration Office each day from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Couples Scramble at country club Aug. 18-19
The Brownwood Country Club’s Couples Scramble, sponsored by TexasBank, will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 and Sunday, Aug. 19.
The entry fee will be $200 per team and includes a practice round on Friday, a Saturday night players’ dinner with door prizes, and refreshments on the course both days. Tee times will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. each day.

NFL Punt, Pass and Kick contest at Brownwood Junior High on Aug. 25
The Brownwood Parks and Recreational Department will be conducting a free “NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass and Kick Competition” at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25 at the Brownwood Junior High football field. The competition is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 15.
The competition will be broken down into four age divisions for each gender — 8 and 9 year olds, 10 and11 year olds, 12 and 13 year olds and 14 and 15 year olds — based upon the participant’s age of of Dec. 31 of the current year.
The top finisher in each of the boys and girls divisions will advance to the sectional round.
Those interested in participating must provide a copy of their birth certificate and a signed parental waiver form, which are available at the Adams Street Community Center.
