    CAMERON — The Brownwood Lady Lions finally got their softball season under way Thursday, and collected two victories to start the Cameron tournament.

    The Lady Lions knocked off Lexington, 7-4, in Thursday’s opener and followed with a 10-0 win over Corpus Christi Miller.

    Against Lexington, Kate Atchley tossed a three-hitter with six strikeouts.

    The Lady Lions recorded 10 hits, led by Amanda Gober’s triple and double. Atchley and Tiara Brown also chipped in doubles.

    In the win over Miller, Sydney Laws pitched a two-hit shutout with four strikeouts and one walk.

    Brownwood pounded out 11 hits, with Gober, Brown and Nathalie de la Torre contributing doubles.

    The Lady Lions are slated to face China Spring and Cameron today.
