ALBANY — The Bangs Lady Dragons chalked up three victories at the Albany tournament to earn a berth in today’s 3 p.m. championship game against No. 12 Cisco.
The Lady Dragons defeated Albany, 46-41, on Friday, while on Thursday Bangs knocked off Haskell, 44-22, and Bowie, 67-53.
Against Albany, Drea Evers recorded 13 points, Chelsy Lipsey finished with 12 points and Abby Hall added eight points.
The win over Haskell featured Lipsey with 19 points followed by 18 from Hillary Evans, nine from Danielle Denbow and eight points from Keirstin Williams.
In the win over Haskell, Evans finished with a team-high 15 points, trailed by Denbow with 14 points and Lipsey with nine points.
The Lady Dragons (15-4) will open District 8-2A action at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday when they host the No. 21 Early Lady Horns.
Bangs 44, Hawley 42
ALBANY — The Bangs Dragons held off Hawley, 44-42, Friday to advance to the championship game of the Albany tournament.
Bangs (9-2) led 16-8 after one quarter and 28-17 at halftime before Hawley trimmed the deficit to 37-34 after three quarters.
Matt Simons led the Dragons with 20 points, trailed by 13 from Marcus Smith, five from Clay Brim, three from Braden Williams, two from Issac Brown and one point from Issac Brown.
After the tournament, Bangs will visit Hamilton in non-district action at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Santa Anna 70,
Panther Creek 27
SANTA ANNA — Santa Anna’s Lady Mountaineers kept their District 16-A Division II record unblemished with Friday’s 70-27 win over Panther Creek.
Santa Anna (14-3, 3-0) led 18-9 after one quarter, 34-16 at halftime and 59-20 after three periods of play.
Sarah Herrod led Santa Anna with 21 points, followed by 13 from Heather McMillan, 11 from Kindsey Holland and 10 from Kaitlyn Krause.
