The Brownwood Cubs seventh grade basketball team swept two games from San Angelo Lincoln, while the eighth grade teams lost twice Monday night.

The seventh grade A team picked up a 50-23 victory. Scoring for the Cubs were Bryce Vickers and Newt Harrell with 15 points each, Jeffrey Newton with 12 points, Zane McCoy with six points and Brandon Brownlee added two points.

The seventh grade B team held on for a 27-26 victory. Aaron Hallmark and Cooper Howey tallied six points each, followed by four apiece from Alex Hernandez and Dylan Martin, three from Bryce Sawyer and two points each from Jeffrey Allen and Nathan Ross.

The eighth grade A team was dealt a 41-31 setback by Lincoln. James Crow led the Cubs with 12 points, followed by seven from Sam Humeniuk, four from Lucius Stalworth and two points apiece from Dakota Pulley, Mitch Stephens, Zac Coppic and Graham Mask.

The eighth grade B team also came up short, 29-22. Isiah Salazar tallied a team-high five points, followed by four from Marques Barnes, three from Dustin Atkins and two each from Nick Rosato, Derrick Johnson, Stephen Romero, Colt Waddle and Thomas Garza.
