The Brownwood Cubs junior high football teams came away with a win, tie and loss in action against Stephenville and San Angelo Lincoln earlier this week.

The eighth graders earned an 14-8 win over Stephenville, scoring both of their touchdowns in the opening half. Tyler Insixienemay accounted for all of Brownwood’s points as he scored on touchdown runs of 20 and 7 yards, and chipped in a two-point conversion.

Other standouts included William Rice, Matt Lewis, Daniel Romero and Anthony Ross on offense, along with Colby Lohse and Sergio Jiames on defense.

The seventh grade ‘A’ team played San Angelo Lincoln to a scoreless tie.

Offensive standouts were Eddie Duque, Isaac Sanchez and John Mobley, while top defensive players included Jesse Martinez, David Jennings, Trenton Carlton and Dustin Evans.

The seventh grade ‘B’ team came up short in a 20-6 decision against San Angelo Lincoln.

Joseph Myers scored for Brownwood on a 60-yard touchdown run, while other top performers included Leo Vargas and Sean Ludlow.
