AUSTIN — Early senior Guy Henry was clocked at 10.86 in the Class 2A boys 100 meters Saturday, which was good for fifth place at the UIL State Track and Field Championships, held at Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas.
Henry, who entered the state meet with the second-fastest qualifying time, shaved 13 hundredths of a second off his Region I championship time of 10.99. Unfortunately for Henry, the rest of the field also improved dramatically.
R.J. Evans of San Antonio Cole (10.65) won the state title, while Aaron Flores of Floydada (10.71) captured second place. Whitewright’s Jeremy Brown (10.71) was third and Mart’s Duke Truett (10.78) placed fourth.
