The Brownwood White Sox and Brownwood Rangers will meet again tonight at 6 p.m. to decide the TTAB District 3 Junior Boys tournament champion after the White Sox eliminated De Leon, 10-1, Thursday night at Camp Bowie.

The Rangers advanced to the title game with a 4-2 victory over the White Sox Wednesday, though the game became a mere footnote compared to the lack of sportsmanship displayed following its conclusion. The winner of the district tournament will advance to the 10-team state tournament in Athens, which begins Monday, July 28.

Patrick Espinoza pitched a complete game on the mound and finished 2-for-4 with an RBI for the White Sox. Stacen Torres chipped in a 3-for-3 effort that included three RBIs.

The White Sox scored single runs in the first and second innings against De Leon, which defeated Early, 9-8, in the first game Thursday.

In the first inning, Graylon Brown singled home Espinoza, while Espinoza drove in Torres in the second.

RBI singles by Torres, which scored Mitch Stephens, and A.J. Salazar, which knocked in Torres, pushed the White Sox lead to 4-0 in the fourth inning.

Rey Arriaga’s RBI double scored Tyler Edwards in the fifth, then the White Sox tacked on five more runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Following a double by Arriaga and a single from Stephens, Torres plated both with a single. Salazar and Brown followed with their second RBI base hits of the game, while Edwards capped the scoring with an RBI sacrifice fly.
