EARLY The Early Lady Horns picked up their fifth win in seven tries Monday, rolling past the Class 3A Comanche Maidens, 80-44.

Early grabbed a 17-9 first-quarter advantage, which grew to 38-23 by halftime. The Lady Horns put the game away in the third period and as they took a 64-36 lead into the final stanza.

Sydney Skeen scored 25 points to pace the Lady Horns, followed 15 points from Brittany Wilson and 13 points from Bailey Harris.

Also contributing were Angela Sanderson with nine points, Tresta Donahoo with eight points, Sarah Russell with six points and Julia Loudermilk with four points.

Bangs 50, Merkel 38

BANGS The Bangs Dragons opened their season with a 50-38 home win over Merkel Monday night.

The Dragons (1-0) led 13-6 after one quarter, 21-15 at halftime and 30-26 heading into the final period.

Joey Lewis scored a game-high 19 points for Bangs, followed by nine each from Justin Greenhaw and Adrian Brown, eight points from Bradley Lee, five from Justin Kyle and two points from Cody Cross.
