ABILENE — The Brownwood Lady Lions bounced back from a 1-2 start at the Abilene Bev Ball Classic with three victories Saturday, which earned them first place in the Challenger Bracket.

The Lady Lions (4-2) began Saturday action at Abilene Cooper High School with a 25-21, 25-17 win over Graham, then they rolled past Miles, 25-22, 22-8.

In a rematch of their Friday finale, the Lady Lions avenged a narrow loss to Sweetwater by claiming a 25-18, 17-25, 25-23 victory.

Brownwood lost to Sweetwater in three sets Friday, and was also defeated by Richardson. The Lady Lions won their season opener, rallying to knock off Mansfield Timberview in three sets.

The Lady Lions will return to Abilene Cooper Tuesday to face the Lady Cougars and the Abilene High Lady Eagles in a dual match. Game time is 4 p.m.
