The Brownwood Lady Lions volleyball team continued its path of destruction through District 2-3A Tuesday, recording yet another straight-set victory.

The playoff-bound Lady Lions, who can finish no worse than second in the final 2-3A standings, recorded their seventh sweep in eight district matches, 25-8, 25-13, 25-11 over the Snyder Lady Tigers in front of the largest crowd of the season at Warren Gym.

Brownwood (26-8, 8-0) owns a one-game edge in the district standings over Sweetwater - which visits next Tuesday in the regular-season finale - and a three-game cushion over third-place Graham, which hosts the Lady Lions Friday night.

The Lady Lions, who will be making their fifth consecutive postseason appearance, hardly broke a sweat against Snyder.

Flynn Harrell led Brownwood with 13 kills and two blocks, while Julie Kennedy chipped in nine kills and Moochie Galloway added five. Also recording kills were Sheldyn Miller with three, Stephanie Jordy and Chloe Geye with two each and Shalisa Hall with one.

Alex Williams tallied 31 assists, followed by two each from Hall and RaeLee Taylor.

As a team, the Lady Lions finished with 11 digs from nine different players, and nine aces.

In the opening set, the Lady Lions raced out to a 15-2 lead as Snyder called a pair of time outs before recording its third point. During the decisive opening run, Harrell tallied four kills, Galloway notched three, Geye had one and Taylor served an ace.

The final 10 points featured three kills and a set-ending ace from Kennedy and two more kills and an ace from Harrell.

Brownwood fell behind 2-0 in the second set, then scored 12 of the next 14 points to seize control.

Harrell tallied two kills during the scoring spurt and one each came from Geye and Hall, while the rest of the points were the result of Snyder miscues.

Jalisa Hall served an ace to push the advantage to 16-8, and the lead reached double digits, 21-11, on yet another Snyder error.

The set ended with a kill from Harrell.

After the two teams split the first four points of the final set, Brownwood went on a 9-0 run to put the game out of reach.

Jessica Seaton contributed a pair of aces for the Lady Lions’ 22nd and 23rd points. Harrell added her last kill and an unforced Snyder error resulted in the final points of the night.
