The Brownwood Lions junior varsity maroon football team rolled to a 44-16 victory over the Abilene Wylie Bulldogs Thursday.

Graylon Brown and Colt Scott each rushed for three touchdowns, while Luke Chastain caught a TD pass.

Brown scored on carries of 1, 1 and 12 yards, while Scott added scores from 11, 56 and 50 yards out. Chastainís touchdown reception covered 14 yards.

Defensive standouts for the Lions included Michael Ballejo, Josh Hernandez and Rey Arriaga.

9th Maroon Lions 32,

Wylie 0

The Brownwood Lions freshman maroon football team improved to 4-2 and 1-0 in district play with a 32-0 victory over Abilene Wylie Thursday night.

Stehl Ratliff scored on runs of 1 and 20 yards, while Mitch Stephens chipped in touchdown runs of 4 and 45 yards. Also scoring for the Lions were Dakota Delacruz on a 60-yard interception return, and Abel Jimenez chipped in a two-point conversion.

Other standouts included James Crow and Jose Avila on the offensive side, while top defensive performers included Sam Humeniuk, Angelo Trevino, Ray Vela and Garrett Wells, who intercepted a pass.

9th White Lions 14, Wylie 6

With 28 seconds left in regulation, Tye Chambers scored on a 7-yard run, and Michael McCollough added the two-point conversion, as the Brownwood Lions freshman white football team knocked off Abilene Wylie, 14-6, Thursday night.

McCollough opened the scoring with a 68-yard touchdown run in the first half, but Wylie pulled even at 6-6 following a Lionsí second-half fumble.

Offensive standouts for the Lions included Isiah Salazar, Michael Cuellar, Zac Coppic, Daniel Garza, Antonio Ramirez, Angel Castillo and Garrett Woods.

Top defensive performers included Billy Sansom, Edgar Ramirez, C.J. Hickerson, Thomas Garza, Jacob Moore, Aubrey Delatorre, Cameron McLaughlin and Cameron Seale, who intercepted a pass.
