ZEPHYR - The Early Lady Horns placed second, the Bangs Lady Dragons came in third and the Zephyr Lady Bulldogs finished sixth in the eight-team varsity girls division of the Zephyr cross country meet on Wednesday.

Bailey Harris (13:35) was the top finishing Lady Horn in third place, followed by Kayla Dickerson (10th place, no time), Sarah Ringler (16th place, no time), Charity Johnston (18th place, 14:11), Shay Glen (21st place, 14:19), Tresta Donahoo (27th place, 14:42) and Tylene Middleton (41st place, 15:32).

For Bangs, Kirsten Reichenau (13:40) led the charge with a fourth-place effort, followed by Keirsten Williams (seventh place, 13:43), Chelsy Lipsey (ninth place, no time), Bethany Kyle (12th place, 13:50) and Amy Wilson (40th place, 15:24).

Zephyr’s Chasity King (13:42) came in sixth place to lead the Lady Bulldogs, trailed by Dusty Harris (35th place, 15:18), Leanna Russell (37th place, 15:22), Shelbi Cottrell (42nd place, 15:33), Shelby Nail (44th place, 15:40), Candice Cornelius (51st place, no time) and Joade Harris (51st place, no time).

Blanket’s Jaclynn Page (14:55) also competed in the event and came in 29th place.

On the varsity boys side, the Brownwood Lions finished second as a team.

Patrick McLaughlin (17:54) placed fifth, followed by Anthony Delgado (seventh place, 18:09), Luis Vallecillo (16th place, 19:08), Josh Reece (18th place, 19:08), William Reece (28th place, 21:00), Bryan Justice (29th place, 21:03) and Kevin Bostick (31st place, 21:36).

Competing individually from Bangs were Derek Wilson (eighth place, 18:14), Braden Williams (15th place, 19:02), Josh Simons (35th place, 22:01) and Evan Rose (39th place, no time).

Zephyr runners included Lacy Culpepper (13th place, 19:00) and Grant Davis (23rd place, 20:13), while Early’s Warren Ethridge (19:26) came in 22nd place.
