The Belton Aggies capped their undefeated run through the Texas Teen-Age Baseball Senior Midget state championship tournament by posting their second 10-0 victory in as many days over the Pleasant Grove Longhorns Thursday at the Camp Bowie Sports Complex.
The Aggies were the beneficiaries of a four-inning no-hitter tossed by pitcher Cody Wolf, who struck out six batters.
The only Longhorns to reach base were Peter Gavriel, who was hit by a pitch in the second inning; Cross Bright, who led off the third inning with a walk; and A.J. Snyder, who got on base due to a two-out error in the fourth inning.
Belton grabbed a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning as Cole Hobbs, Justin Tatum and Shane Stafford scored on wild pitches. Stafford added an RBI single and Hunter Garrett drove home a run with an RBI ground out.
In the third inning, the Aggies added four more runs on RBI singles by Hunter Reid, Hobbs, Tatum and Trent Stafford.
The game ended in the bottom of the fourth when Reid was hit in the head by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Wolf with the 10th run to enforce the mercy rule.
Pleasant Grove defeated the Whitehouse Braves earlier Thursday to advance to the championship game.
