DUBLIN TOURNAMENT

Early Lady Horns 61, Gatesville 42

DUBLIN — The Early Lady Horns picked up their seventh win in 10 games this season, rolling past Class 3A Gatesville, 61-42, in the opening round of the Dublin tournament Thursday.

Early is scheduled to play either Eastland or Comanche at 10 a.m. today — both teams the Lady Horns have defeated already this year — but the game may be cancelled due to the football playoff game in Midland tonight.

The Lady Horns took a 19-8 lead over Gatesville after one quarter, but the Lady Hornets trimmed the deficit to 30-22 by halftime. In the third quarter, however, Early pushed the lead to 49-34.

Bailey Harris led Early with 15 points, followed by 13 from Brittany Wilson, 10 from Sydney Skeen, six from Sarah Russell, five each from Tresta Donahoo, Katelyn Matlock and Angela Sanderson, and two points from Julia Loudermilk.
