GADSDEN, Ala. — Reckless softball avenged its only loss in eight games at the ASA 14U Southern Nationals, defeating the T-Birds of Wilburn, Ga., 10-0, in the second national championship game here Sunday.
After sweeping two pool games Thursday, Reckless began its trek to the national championship with a bracket play win Friday. Two more victories followed Saturday, then Reckless defeated Wilburn, 9-4, Sunday morning to advance to the championship game.
The T-Birds fought through the elimination bracket and forced a rematch in the title game, where they edged Reckless by a 3-2 count.
But Reckless regrouped and coasted in the second championship game, securing the national title.

Against the Ice, Reckless jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Georgia pulled even with a three-run fifth inning. Reckless responded with three more runs in the sixth inning and held on down the stretch.
