Coaches, statisticians asked to report results
Local high school coaches and/or statisticians are encouraged to report the results of their team’s game or match to the Bulletin the day of the contest.
The deadline to report information Sunday through Friday is 10:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

‘Meet the Dragons’ scheduled for 5 p.m.
The Bangs Athletic Booster Club will host its rescheduled ‘Meet the Dragons’ event at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 at Bangs Memorial Stadium.
All players and teams will be introduced, hamburgers will be served and ‘Dragon Gear’ will be available for purchase.
Bangs Booster Club meeting on Sept. 8
The Bangs Athletic Booster Club will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8 at Room 104 of the new high school.
Youth flag football registration in Early Sept. 9
The Early Church of Christ will be holding registration for its youth flag football league from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at the church.
The league will be divided into three age groups: kindergarten and first graders, second and third graders and fourth and fifth graders.
The cost to register is $30 per child or $50 for two children. The fee is due at registration and the cost includes a T-shirt and mouthpiece.

Brownwood flag football registration until Sept. 12
Registration for the Coggin Ave. Baptist Church flag football season, for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade, will run from Wednesday, Aug. 27 through Friday, Sept. 12.
Registration forms have been issued to all schools and also can be picked up at the Christian Life Center or the main office of Coggin Ave. Baptist Church during normal business hours.
The cost to register is $20. The season begins Sept. 27 and all games will be played on Saturdays for a five-week stretch.

Fall 7-on-7 football league to start play Oct. 11
The Joshua Generation Ann 2008 Fall 7-on-7 Football League is slated to begin play on Oct. 11. The deadline to register a team for the league is Oct. 3

Brownwood-Burnet football tickets available
Tickets for the Brownwood Lions’ 2008 football season opener against the Burnet Bulldogs at the Alamodome in San Antonio are now on sale. Kickoff is slated for 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30.
Tickets may be purchased at the Brownwood ISD Administration Office at 2707 Southside Dr. from 8 a.m. to 4:30 Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
The cost of the tickets are $10 apiece and all money collected for the game will remain in Brownwood.

Lions ‘You’ve been mauled’ fund-raiser under way
The Brownwood Lions Mothers’ Club will introduce the “You’ve been mauled” fund-raiser for the upcoming football season.
For $25, the “You’ve been mauled” sign can be purchased and placed in the yard of a friend neighbor or business associate for a week.
To have the sign moved to another location, the person whose yard the sign was placed pays $25 and supplies a name and address that the sign should be taken to next.
If a business or individual wants to keep the sign for a longer period of time, that can be arranged as well.
If someone wants the sign at their home or business or wants to have the sign placed elsewhere, call Melissa Crow at 641-2334.
District 2-3A map books now available for purchase
The supporters of Brownwood Lady Lions softball are selling map books to the sites of all the District 2-3A schools for $5.
The book includes maps to all sports venues - for both boys and girls sports - in District 2-3A, along with information about each school, contact numbers for each school, and restaurants within each town.
