HOUSTON (AP) — Scott Hatteberg hit a solo home run in the eighth inning and Matt Belisle struck out a career-high eight Tuesday night to lead the Cincinnati Reds to a 2-1 victory over Houston, the Astros’ ninth consecutive loss.

Belisle (5-4) allowed only two hits after Adam Everett’s RBI triple that was nearly an inside-the-park homer. Belisle, a native of Austin, threw 102 pitches in 7 2-3 innings, his longest outing since a complete-game victory over Pittsburgh on April 28.

Adam Dunn knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly for the Reds.

David Weathers got Carlos Lee to ground into a game-ending double play with the bases loaded in the ninth to pick up his 10th save.
