The 10-team TTAS High School Eligible Girls state tournament opens pool play today at the Camp Bowie Sports Complex, with bracket play scheduled to begin Friday.
Competing in this year’s event - the second straight held in Brownwood - are teams from Brownwood, Early, Bangs, Clyde, Cisco, Eastland, Hico, Ennis, Mabank and Alba-Golden.
Four pool play games will be held at 6 p.m., four more will follow at 7:30 p.m. and the last two start at 9 p.m.
The 6 p.m. contests feature Brownwood vs. Ennis, Bangs vs. Clyde, Mabank vs. Eastland and Alba-Golden vs. Cisco.
At 7:30 p.m., Brownwood meets Alba-Golden, Early tangles with Mabank, Bangs challenges Hico and Cisco faces Ennis.
The 9 p.m. games include Early vs. Eastland and Clyde vs. Hico.
Bracket play begins at 6 p.m. Friday and teams will draw for their position in the championship bracket once they arrive for pool play.
Four games will take place at 6 p.m. Friday with two to follow at 8:30 p.m.
Tournament play resumes at 8 a.m. Saturday as 10 games will be held - two at 8 a.m., four at 10:30 a.m., two at 6 p.m. and two at 8:30 p.m.
The championship game is slated for a 10:30 a.m. first pitch Sunday following an 8:30 a.m. contest to determine the second state title contender. A second championship game, if needed, will start at 12:30 p.m.
