Special to the Bulletin

Brownwood High School football is gearing up for the 2008 season and its berth in the 10th annual Texas Football Classic with a promotional stop at the Sonic Drive-In, 1500 Austin Ave., from 10 a.m. to noon today. Magazine founder Dave Campbell will be available for autographs during the entire event.

All in attendance will have the opportunity to purchase the latest edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine, which hit news racks all across the state Monday morning. Known as the “bible” of Texas high school football, Texas Football magazine sales at the event go directly to the Lions’ Athletic Booster Club to support the trip to the 10th annual Texas Football Classic game vs. Burnet at 3:45 p.m. Aug. 30.

The U.S. Army, an official partner of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football and the 10th annual Texas Football Classic, will also have recruiters at the event who will be available for questions.

The U.S. Army is the presenting sponsor for the first Army Strong Team of the Year awards, detailed in the magazine.

The 10th annual Texas Football Classic, one of the largest high school athletic events in the nation, is a three-day, five-game event held Aug. 28-30 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Only 10 of the state’s most prestigious schools from the largest markets in Texas are invited.
