ANSON - The Bangs Dragons improved to 4-0 on the season with Tuesday night’s 41-33 win at Anson.

The Dragons led 12-5 after one quarter, 21-17 at halftime and 29-25 through three quarters.

Matthew Simons scored nine points to pace Bangs, followed by eight from Marcus Smith, seven from D.J. Rios, five each from Jorden Mason and Braden Williams, four from Issac Brown and three points from Clay Brim.

Bangs will face Grape Creek at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Ballinger tournament action.

Blanket 57, Lipan JV 41

BLANKET - The Blanket Tigers collected a 57-41 non-district victory over the Lipan JV Tuesday.

The Tigers led 20-2 after one quarter, 35-13 at halftime and 45-28 after three quarters.

Jaron Prater led Blanket with 15 points, followed by Austin Hughes with 11, Corey Wetzel and Cameron Prater with eight each, Braxton Gonzalez with six, Justin Storey with five and Joseph Meeks and Conner Wetzel with two points each.

Bangs 48, Hamilton 33

HAMILTON - The Bangs Lady Dragons notched a 48-33 non-district victory over Hamilton Tuesday night.

The Lady Dragons were led by the 20-point effort of Hillary Evans and eight points apiece from Danielle Denbow and Chelsy Lipsey.

Bangs will compete in the Merkel tournament starting Thursday.

Blanket 57, Sidney 25

BLANKET - The Blanket Lady Tigers cruised to a 57-25 District 16-A, Division II victory over Sidney here Tuesday night.

Blanket led 15-7 after one quarter, 26-8 at halftime and 43-18 through three quarters.

Orlanda Lopez led Blanket with 17 points, followed by Danie Casarez with 15, Candace Bundick with seven, Mayra Soto with six, Nikki Andrews with five, Ashley Valle with four and Jessica Barrow with three.

Santa Anna 74, May 36

MAY - Behind a 44-point first half, Santa Anna cruised to a 74-36 District 16-A, Division II win over the May Lady Tigers Tuesday.

Santa Anna led 23-5 after one quarter, 44-10 at halftime and 61-15 through three quarters.

Sarah Herrod led Santa Anna (1-0 in district) with 23 points.

May (2-2, 0-1) received nine points from Heather Starnes, eight from Becca McDonald, six from Summer Sanders, five from Cherish Atkinson and Emily Murphree and three points from Kendall Thornhill.
