Registration for Little Lions program under way
Registration for the 2007 edition of the Little Lions program is under way and will continue through Friday, Aug. 10. The entry fee is $15.
Little Lions will be matched with a varsity football player and will receive a T-shirt with their varsity player’s name and number. No requests will be honored.
The Little Lion will meet their Big Lion at the annual “Meet the Lions” event at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28 at Gordon Wood Stadium. Entry forms are available at Weakley-Watson and Wal-Mart.

WNBA basketball star to host camp at BHS starting Thursday
Former WNBA world champion Alicia Thompson of the Seattle Storm and New York Liberty will be the director of a high school basketball girls camp at Brownwood High School from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, July 19 through Saturday, July 21 and again on Monday, july 23.
The camp is open to incoming ninth through 12th graders and the cost is $40.
Thompson was the ninth overall pick in the 1998 WNBA draft and she ranks second all-time on the Texas Tech scoring and rebounding lists.

Cen-Tex Soccer Association registration starts Saturday
Cen-Tex Soccer Association registration for the fall season begins Saturday, July 21 and will run through Saturday, Aug. 11. On Saturday, Aug. 4 and Saturday, Aug. 11, registration sessions will be held at the Cen-Tex Soccer complex from 10 a.m. to noon.
The registration fee is $35 per child and forms can be picked up at Weakley-Watson.
The season will run from Sept. 8 through Nov. 3.

Lions football season tickets available on Monday
Season tickets for the 2007 Brownwood Lions football season will be on sale to all current ticket holders from Monday, July 23 through Friday, Aug. 3.
From Monday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 17, season ticket sales will be open to the public.
Season tickets are $30 per seat for the season. Parking passes will also be $30 this season.
Tickets can be purchased at the Brownwood ISD Administration Building at 2707 Southside Dr.

Early Booster Club set to meet Monday
Those interested in any Early High School or Early Middle School athletic program are invited to attend a meeting of the Early Booster Club at 7 p.m. Monday, July 23 at “the pit” at Early High.
Plans are being made for support of the programs, beginning with football and continuing throughout the year, for all sports.
Bangs Dragons football camp starts Monday morning
The Bangs Dragons football camp will take place Monday, July 23 through Thursday, July 26 at Bangs Memorial Stadium.
The camp will be divided into four one-hour sessions — incoming second and third graders from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.; incoming fourth and fifth graders from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; incoming sixth and seventh graders from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.; and incoming eighth and ninth graders from 11 a.m. to noon.
The cost of the camp is $30, and $20 for each additional child in the same household.

Little Cheer Camp scheduled to start Monday
The Brownwood High School Cheerleaders will be hosting their annual Little Cheer Camp from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a..m Monday July 23 through Thursday, July 26 at the Brownwood High School gym.
The camp is open to girls ages 4 to those entering the sixth grade. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, July 23. The cost is $35 per child.
Each camper will receive a T-shirt and participate in a pep rally performance for parents on the last day of camp.
Lady Jackets basketball camp set for July 30-Aug. 2
The Howard Payne University women’s basketball team will be hosting a basketball fundamentals camp for girls entering third through ninth grade.
The camp will run from Monday, July 30 through Thursday, Aug. 2 and will be broken into two sessions. Seventh through ninth graders should attend the 9 a.m. to noon session, while the 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. session is for third through sixth graders.

Lady Lions volleyball camp slated to begin July 30
The Brownwood Lady Lions volleyball camp will take place Monday, July 30 through Friday, Aug. 3 at Warren Gym on the Brownwood High School campus.
The camp, which costs $30, will be broken up into two sessions. The first will be from 9 a.m. to noon for incoming 10th, 11th and 12th graders. The second will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for incoming seventh, eighth and ninth graders.

Texas Youth Football League early registration continues
Early registration for the upcoming fall season of the Texas Youth Football League is now under way.
Registration forms for the third and fourth grade and fifth and sixth grade leagues are available at Weakley-Watson Sporting Goods.
The fee to register in July is $105 and $120 in August. The season will begin in mid-August and conclude in late October.
Teams from Brownwood, Early, Bangs, Brady, Coleman, Comanche, San Saba and Goldthwaite will comprise the league, with all games being played on Saturdays. The majority of the games will take place in Brownwood.
