Generally, people don't think too much about their local government. How can you with all the drama at the national level. That's another subject. However, local government is key in keeping this community going. In addition to elected and appointed offices, there are many civic organizations in town that do a great deal to help the community. We are also fortunate to have community assets like our medical facilities, schools, regional airport, Howard Payne University and our public library. Learn more about them here.
