Ada Jo Sedden

AUSTIN – Ada Jo Sedden passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25th at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in May, Texas, with the Reverend Charles Copeland presiding. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

Jo was born on March 9, 1925 to Charles Fincannon and Hettie Morrison in Dublin, Texas. After she graduated from high school, she became a “Rosie the Riveter” at the airplane plant in Fort Worth during WWII. It was there she met the love of her life, Z. C. Sedden, Jr., a young sailor home on leave. They were married in Oxnard, California on May 20, 1945. Jo and Z.C. raised their family in Aledo, Texas where they lived for thirty-six years. They retired to Harbor Point near Lake Brownwood in 1986. They had many happy times there.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles Douglas Fincannon; her husband, Z. C.; and two sons, Charles Michael and Patrick Lee. She is survived by her daughter and daughter-in-law, Linda Sedden and Kathy Edwards of Austin, TX; her son and daughter-in-law, Casey Sedden and Pam Sedden of Dallas, TX; her grandchildren, Clair and Dave Leimsieder of San Francisco, Alex and Kristen Henvey of Dallas, Patrick and Connie Sedden of San Francisco; and David and Alina Sedden of Dallas; three great grandchildren, Gracie and Henry Leimsieder, and Ada Jean Sedden (aka: A. J.); as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Jo loved and was loved by family and friends. She made new friends wherever she was. She will be missed.
