Maybe there isn’t such a thing as a free lunch. But Tuesday morning, Girling Health Care Inc. is offering a free breakfast — with a side of Gospel singing.
The breakfast is from 8 to 9 a.m. at Southside Church and, following the meal, from 9 to 10 a.m. two Gospel singing groups — 4xGrace and The Andersons — will perform.
The breakfast will include an egg, sausage and cheesy hashbrown casserole; sausage gravy and biscuits; fresh fruit; an assortment of pastries; and beverages of coffee, juice and milk.
The public is invited, but for those planning to eat breakfast, reservations are requested. Call 646-0844 to confirm reservations.
Girling Health Care Inc. officials have said they would like for the “Southern Gospel Breakfast and Singin’” to become an annual event. According to a news release, the event is being offered “compliments of Girling Health Care with our appreciation for your community leadership and service to our senior citizens.”
The Andersons are a family Gospel trio, including Bill and Karen Anderson and their 11-year-old son, Austin, and 4xGrace is a local men’s quartet and includes Bill Slaymaker, Eric Evans on piano, Jeff Lewis and Randy Ethridge.
“These groups will be singing the good, beautiful Gospel music we grew up with, the familiar hymns,” said Jill Evans, who works for Girling Health Care. “We want the morning — the breakfast and the music to be a joy and comfort to those who come, and the public is invited, but we especially hope senior citizens will attend.”
Southside Church is located at 1219 Indian Creek Rd.
