Those looking for signs for Christmas need to look no further in Brown County than in downtown Brownwood about lunch time on Friday.
The Brownwood Art Association is hosting its seventh annual chili lunch and miniature art sale. Art pieces are $25 each and as many as 150 or more artworks will be sold. Each piece is an original, and will sell to the first person who chooses it as his or her own.
But of course, say art association members, the artworks make wonderful unique gifts.
This year, in addition to the one-of-a-kind artworks, BAA members will have a silent auction on more than 200 pieces of jewelry from an estate. Proceeds from the auction will be used to fund the painting and other updates of the Art Center kitchen.
To preview the art and jewelry, a special viewing has been scheduled from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. today at the Art Center, 215 Fisk Ave.
The luncheon and actual art sale will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at the Art Center. Admission to the lunch and sale is $5. The lunch will include chili, beans and cornbread. Bids close for the silent auction at 12:30 p.m. Friday.
