Uncle Dave's Roadhouse will be opening its doors at 11 a.m. today as part of the "Kicken' 4 Cade," a fund-raiser for the family of Cade Boyle that will feature a fish fry and acoustic Texas country show.
"We ordered enough catfish for about 500-600 plates," Waylon Grelle said. "We already pre-sold 400 plates."
Residents will have the option to dine-in at Uncle Dave's Roadhouse, take their orders to go or have them delivered - times are limited to 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Plates will include fried catfish, cole slaw, fries and hushpuppies for an $8 donation.
The Texas country music show will begin at 7 p.m. with Jesse Mascorro hitting the acoustic stage at Uncle Dave's Roadhouse. The line up for the night includes Josh Loett from Four Barrel, Jim Bush and Billy Holloway from the Texas Mule House Ratz, Buck Nelson and Hunter Brinson from the Buck Nelson Band, Tanner Strickland from the Tanner Strickland Band, Boone Cook, Wes Manley and Stan Scantling from the Remains and Nashville recording artist Rick Huckaby. Cover for the acoustic show will be $5 at the door and limited to residents age 21 and older.
"We are hoping to raise $5,000 for the family," Grelle said. "We will also have a guitar signed by all the performers that we will be raffling off along with some other items."
Cade is the son of Heather and Peyton Johnson of Early and Matt Boyle, formerly of Bangs. He was diagnosed with Stage IV Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer, on Jan. 19 and has been undergoing treatment at Cook Children Hospital.
