BANGS ? Dick Alden Touchstone, 83 of Texas City, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012, at his residence.
Dick was born April 11, 1929, on the Herring Ranch outside of Ballinger, Texas, the son of Noble Harrison Touchstone and Ione Herring Touchstone. Mr. Touchstone was a veteran serving in U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. He moved to Galveston County in the early 1950s, he lived in Galveston, then La Marque and settled in Texas City. Dick retired from Union Carbide Chemical Company after 41 years of service as a process operator.
Dick is survived by his wife, Johnye Watters Touchstone of Texas City; three sons, David Touchstone, Paul Touchstone both of Hitchcock, and Steve Touchstone of Texas City; one brother, David Touchstone and his wife Nila of Brownwood, Texas; six grandchildren Amy, Jason, Casie, Bradie, Tye and Trent; and five great-grandchildren, Alden, Connor, Landon, Jo Beth and Jake. A special thanks to his good buddy Vic for all his help and friendship.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, in the Bangs Cemetery in Bangs, Texas, with Dr. Pepper Dill officiating.
