Brownwood police arrested a total of six people on drug charges in two unrelated cases.

According to press releases from Assistant Police Chief James Fuller:

Officers with the Brownwood Police Department Tactical Response Team executed a search and arrest warrant in the 2100 block of Ave E. This was the culmination of an investigation led by Detective Aaron Taylor into the distribution of methamphetamine in the community.

At the residence, officers arrested Jerry Michael Poling, 33, after locating a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. Inside the residence, officers located prescription medication that was possessed illegally and arrested Crystal Maddox, 27.

The Brownwood Police Department was assisted by investigators with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office in this ongoing investigation into the manufacturing and distribution of illegal narcotics. More arrests are expected as the investigation continues.

Also on Friday, police received information regarding illegal drug activity in the 1900 block of Coggin Avenue. Detectives with the Brownwood Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, assisted by the Brown County Probation Department, conducted a probationary search at a residence and arrested four individuals on charges of possession of marijuana.

Those arrested were John Dyer, 18; Wyatt Hughes, 18; Patrick Holeman, 19; and Luis Alvarado, 21.

This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
