ODESSA — Graveside services for Herman Howard Fore Jr., 87, of Early, Texas will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa with the Rev. Terry Easley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
He died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at his home.
Herman Howard Fore Jr. was born Oct. 22, 1924, in Garber, Okla., to Herman Howard and Lena Mae Carter Fore. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was married to Carol Forlines in Lovington, N.M., on Jan. 12, 1951. He lived in Denver City from 1953 to 1985 where he retired as a maintenance foreman from Shell Oil. He moved to Gardendale in 1985, where he was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He had lived in Early, for the past two years and was a 50- year member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife: Carol Fore of Early; daughters, Judy Chapman and husband Perry of Odessa, and Jan Gruben and husband Carl of Brownwood; sister, Glenna June Sirkel and husband J.W. of Boise, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Victor Fore and Bob Fore
