SNYDER - After two lackluster offensive performances to open the season, the Brownwood Lions roared to life Friday night with a 49-14 victory over the Snyder Tigers.
Brownwood (1-2) scored on its first six possessions, including all four in the first half, en route to a 411-yard performance.
Chris Keesee completed 19 of 24 passes for 285 yards with five touchdowns, and Cooper Howey grabbed 12 receptions for 182 yards with four trips to the end zone. Eddie Duque chipped in 29-yard touchdown catch.
Brownwood also rushed for 136 yards, led by 65 yards from Daylon Johnson and 56 from Braxton Kilgo, who contributed two touchdowns on the ground.
Defensively, the Lions caused five turnovers and held Snyder to 287 yards of total offense.
The Lions will host state-ranked Abilene Wylie next week.
