BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons are in the driver’s seat for the second playoff seed from District 6-2A after finishing the first half of league volleyball action with a 25-9, 25-9, 25-3 victory over Reagan County Saturday.

“The girls came out on fire and stayed up for all three games,” said Lady Dragons first-year head coach Colleen Westfall. “The bench players also did a great job.”

Jaylee Roberts notched seven kills to pace the Bangs offensive attack followed by five from Kinsie Ward and four from Rikki Loman. Cheyenne Lovelady served seven aces and Kassidy Adams contributed four.

Since dropping its district opener at No. 20 Grape Creek, Bangs (11-10, 2-1) has since responded with a four-set victory over Sonora and Saturday’s home sweep of Reagan County.

The second half of Bangs’ district volleyball schedule features home dates against Grape Creek, on Tuesday, and Sonora, on Oct. 13, along with a road trip to Reagan County on Oct. 16.
